SHAVUOT
This the holiday of the firstborn and the giving of the Torah. This is the time to open our
hearts to the families who have suffered at the hands of our enemies.
These are days decreed for Light and joy
This holiday of the first offerings is known as Shavuot – and we celebrate a day full of
happiness, wrapped in white and enjoying festivities.
On this symbolic day, the bringing of
the first offerings takes on new spiritual meaning when it is especially important to take
care of families who need support to celebrate fuly.
A Tradition of Giving
On Shavuot, a festive white tent will be built at Or Meir & Bracha, with touches of greenery
from nature, and a sweet, delicious cheesecake will be distributed to each family victimized
by terror. It is important for us to sweeten their sorrow and allow them to remember that
someone truly cares for them!
An Overflowing Basket Full of Goodies
We plan to prepare baskets filled with cheesecake for every family and add to it poultry,
vegetables, fruits, dry good and savory snacks. We do all this because each family deserves
a full table for the holiday. Shavuot is not only a festive day. It is a spiritual journey– a time
tp connect with our traditions and celebrate the abundance that life brings.
